Quick start
-
Install the engine and start it:
Terminal window knoflows -
Open the URL logged at startup. With
PORTunset and port 3000 free, that ishttp://localhost:3000. -
Open Manage → Providers. Add a provider instance (Jira, Bitbucket, GitHub, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or an agent such as Claude or Cursor) and use Test connection.
-
Open Manage → Workflows and the Workflow library. Add an example with Add to my workflows. PR Review is one of the built-in examples. It applies to pull requests and asks for a local repository path when you launch it.
-
Open Manage → Views and choose Create a View. Bind the workflow you added. For a subject workflow, pick the provider instance and set a query. The editor has a form, a JSON filter, and Quick fill.
-
Open the view in the sidebar. Run on all matching launches a subject view against the subjects that match now. Run launches a standalone view (a workflow whose
appliesToisnone).
The same launch is available from the terminal once kno is installed and the engine is running. For example, kno views list shows views, and kno views run launches one.
What leaves the machine is described in Data handling.
