Jobs

A job is one run of a workflow. The workflow definition is copied onto the job when the job is created (workflowSnapshot), so later edits to the workflow do not change that run.

A job records:

  • status — pending, planning, waiting_for_human, waiting_for_children, implementing, testing, completed, failed, or cancelled.
  • subjectContext — the subject or subjects this run is working on.
  • stepHistory — each step execution and its status.
  • cwd — the default working directory for agent and shell steps. A create_worktree step sets it.
  • worktreePaths — git worktrees this job owns, used for cleanup.

The job pauses with waiting_for_human when an interaction, an extract step (onNoMatch: ask_human), or a loop (onMaxIterations: ask_human) needs a person. sub_workflow and parallel start child jobs and the parent waits with waiting_for_children.

kno jobs list shows the active set by default. kno jobs list --history shows every job. kno jobs resume answers a paused job. See the CLI reference.
